At Compañía Nacional de Chocolates we are constantly committed to the preservation of the planet, and we continually put into action the efficient management of water resources. For this reason, we received the National Water Authority (ANA, for its acronym in Spanish) for the evaluation of our Blue Certificate fourth renewal, a recognition that validates our efforts in the reduction of our water footprint and the generation of shared value in water.
The ANA validated the two projects that we have been implementing for 2025, which are:
Reduction of water consumption: implementation of the Osmosis Train System for water reuse in Industrial Services, which consists of implementing reverse osmosis to recirculate treated water, transforming it into potable water that can be reused in different industrial processes.
This technological development will save approximately 2,600 m³ of water annually, which represents 10% of the plant’s total consumption.
Shared value in water: talks and workshops focused on the efficient use of water resources and the implementation of a hydroponic system at the Rosa de Santa María School in the District of Breña, with the aim of promoting the responsible use of water in the school community, while encouraging sustainable agriculture through hydroponic technologies.
